Jumping into Hyperspace – Dimensional Perspectives (Part 3)

June 30, 2018

Prior to his death and resurrection, Jesus was primarily restricted to moving through space just as you and I do. He walked up mountains and through vineyards. He entered houses and sat at tables. He slept in boats as they sailed across the lake. Of course, there were the notable miracles of transit like walking on the water or through the angry mob. He even cloaked himself upon occasion. But it was after the resurrection that he entered locked rooms, became invisible, and superseded the law of gravity on an astronomical scale.

The Blood and the Veil – Entrance by the Blood (Part 7)

October 14, 2017

On the Day of Atonement, blood went on the veil and beyond. The blood of the sin sacrifice was sprinkled on it with a motion that imitated whipping a man.[1] When Jesus gave up the ghost, the veil of the temple was rent from top to bottom.[2] Can you imagine the reaction of the priests? There they are in the holy place going about their daily functions when suddenly—“RIIIIP!!”—this very tall, double-thick veil tears down the middle from top to bottom. And as if that weren’t bad enough, then comes an earthquake to knock them off their feet! There’s not much in life that teaches humility quite like getting knocked down. The veil tore from the top. Grace comes from God to man; only the humble receive it.

A Divinely Dangerous Deity – Entrance by the Blood (Part 2)

September 9, 2017

Nadab and Abihu offered up incense to the Lord by way of a “strange fire.” The Lord does not allow anything “strange” to approach Him.[1] He had only one authorized ignition source in the entire tabernacle system: the fire on the altar of burnt offering. This fire had been lit by the Lord Himself on the inaugural day of the tabernacle. “Fire from heaven” is the biblical term.[2] We call it a lightning.

Entrance by the Blood – Part 1

September 2, 2017

Aaron had four sons: Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar. Nadab and Abihu were the older two and, like all good sons, they were training to go into the family business. They must have shown promise, because the Lord invited them to come along with the elders of Israel for the feast on Mount Sinai.[1] One can imagine how getting an invitation to have supper with God Almighty might cause one to become a little prideful.

More than all Burnt Offerings and Sacrifices – A Blood-Cleared Conscience (Part 2)

July 8, 2017

Jesus and the Sadducees were having a little tête-à-tête. Perceiving that they were losing ground before the Master with their hypothetical reasoning, a scribe jumped in to save the day with a bona fide theological question. “What is the first commandment of all?”

A Blood-Cleared Conscience – Part 1

July 1, 2017

Have you ever had a sin that you have confessed and placed under the blood, yet it still plagued your conscience? If you haven’t, I am sure you know someone who has. Though they’ve confessed the sin and placed it under the blood, they can’t shake the guilt. Why is that?

The Glory of the Lord – A Blood-Cleared Conscience (Part 9)

June 28, 2017

If we offer up the sin offering, the burnt offering, and the peace offering, the Lord will appear unto us in glorious manifestation! If the letter that brought death has such a glorious promise, what will be the result in our lives seeing that we have a much better covenant? Goats, calves, lambs, rams, and bullocks were offered up in the Old Covenant and the glory of the Lord appeared! The blood of Jesus Christ is far superior to the blood of animals. His blood truly cleanses sin, consecrates the saint, and makes possible communion with God.

By the Precious Blood (The Purchase of Blood – Part 3)

February 3, 2017

We were not redeemed by silver or gold, but by the precious blood of Christ! What gives the blood of Christ its worth? It is sinless. But it isn’t simply sinless by nature; it is also sinless by proof.
